The Fannin County Lady Rebels continued their perfect season at Gordon Central Monday, February 28, when they scored a 2-0 win to improve their record to 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in the Region 7AA.
After a scoreless first half, Kinsley Sullivan put the Lady Rebels on the board with a goal as the second half clock reached 9:10.
Emma Richardson, off an assist by Monica Ponton scored Fannin’s second goal with 2:06 left.
The low scoring contest was a reflection of the defense played in the match, an effort led by Kinsley Sullivan with eight defensive steals. Altogether, the Lady Rebels recorded 23 defensive steals. Besides Sullivan, getting in on the effort were Aaliyah Green with five; Ponton, Hannah Sosebee, and Hannah McSwain with two apiece; and Cali Tuggle, Stephanie Kirk, Karmah Eaton, and Taylor Poland with one steal each.
Goalkeeper Rachel Jensen had three saves.
The Lady Rebels will play their last home games March 10, which will also be Rec Night and March 22, which will be the annual Senior Night.
