Fannin Rebel baseball players honored

    Nine Fannin County baseball Rebels were honored for their outstanding efforts this season, as they made the 2022 Region 7-AA All Region Team.

    Senior pitcher Jason Pearson, junior catcher Hayden Danner, and senior outfielder Sawyer Moreland were all voted onto the first team.

    Pearson went 5-3 on the mound in 2022, striking out 70 batters in 50 innings pitched, and also sported a 2.10 ERA.

    Danner had an on base percentage of .359 with ten RBI’s.

    Moreland hit .290 and finished with 18 RBI’s.

    Three more Rebels made the second team, junior Bryson Holloway, senior Jake Kuna, and junior Connor Martin. Holloway had a .392 on base percentage, had eight RBI’s and led the team with 22 runs scored. Kuna finished 2022 with a slugging percentage of .392 and led Fannin with two home runs to go along with 20 RBI’s. Martin had an on base percentage of .369 and scored 21 runs. He also tied for the team lead with six doubles.

    Three more seniors made honorable mention for the Rebels, Jordan Bennett, Landon Norton, and Chance Stacy. On the mound, Bennett went 5-2 with a 2.63 ERA, striking out 45 batters in 34.2 innings pitched. Norton finished with an on base percentage of .348 and collected ten RBI’s. Stacy hit .256 with five doubles and led the Rebels with 23 RBI’s.
