Fannin track stars advance to sectionals

The Fannin County High School track teams ended their regular season as Region 7AA Runner-ups at the Regional Meet at Gordon Central High School Monday, April 25 and Wednesday, April 27.

Between both teams, 15 individuals and six teams qualified for State Sectionals.

For the men’s team, nine individuals and three relay teams qualified. Individual qualifiers include Hayden Lynch, Long Jump; Corbin Davenport, Long Jump and Pole Vault; Seth Reece, Shot Put and Discus; Matthew Crowder, Shot Put and Discus; Tyler Stevenson, Pole Vault; Grayson Willis, 110 meter Hurdles and 300 meter Hurdles; Andrew Waldrep, 110 meter Hurdles; and Zechariah Prater, 800 meter Run, 1600 meter Run, 3200 meter Run.

Qualifying teams are 4x100 Relay composed of Davenport, Lynch, Jack Kanter and Ian Leite; 4x200 Relay composed of Kanter, Stevenson, Cohutta Brown and Khloe Green; 4x400 Relay composed of Lynch, Kanter, Jackson Mercer and Nate Smith.

For the women’s team. six individuals and three teams qualified. Individual qualifiers include Monica Consentio, Long Jump and 800 meter Race; Shalya Pugh, Triple Jump; Carlee Holloway, 300 meter Hurdles and Pole Vault; Lindsey Holloway, 1600 meter Run ande 3200 meter Run; Caylee Gaddis. 400 meter Dash; Jaclyn Cracknell, 3200 meter Run.

Qualifying team are 4x200 Relay composed of Consentino, C. Holloway, Kaylie Davenport and Kinsley Sullivan; 4x400 Relay composed of Pugh, Sullivan, Gaddis and Stephanie Kirk; 4x800 composed of Consentino, Gaddis, C. Holloway and L. Holloway.

Qualifiers will compete at the Sectional Track Meet Saturday, May 7 at Pace Academy.
