Sponsors are encouraging participants to register now for the annual Veterans Memorial Golf Tournament planned Saturday, October 1, at Butternut Creek Golf Course in Blairsville.
The tournament begins with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start with a two-person scramble format.
A $200 per team entry fee includes lunch and drinks. Prizes and payouts include longest drive, putting and closest to the pin contest. There is also a hole-in-one contest where a winner will be awarded a new Jeep from Mountain Valley Motors.

The event is sponsored by the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association with proceeds used to help area veterans.
