Gilmer falls to Fannin

The Lady Rebels volleyball team took a win in three sets over Gilmer Tuesday, September 9. For the first set, the Lady Rebels won 25-15, 25-17 in the second set, and sealed their win with a score of 25-17. Sophomore Peyton Slone added 16 kills and Maddie Pelfrey served two aces.

Copper Basin posts first victory of season

It was a busy night at Copper Basin High School Friday, September 8, when the Cougars hosted the Titans from New Faith Christian Academy.

Basin beats Polk

Copper Basin’s Lady Cougar volleyball team traveled to take on their rival Polk County Tuesday, August 29, in Benton. After losing the first set 25-22,  the Lady Cougars stormed back and swept the next three sets 25-19, 25-13, and 25-18 to win the match.

Lady Rebels win 3

The Lady Rebels volleyball team kicked off the 2023 season at a tournament in Woodstock Saturday, August 12. The team took home three wins and twos losses for the tournament. In the first match against East Paulding, the Lady Rebels won in two sets with 20 kills in 63 attacks with seven errors.

Fannin rolls over Pickens 52-28

The Fannin County High Rebels traveled to Jasper last Friday night and came back up Highway 515 with a lopsided 52-28 win over the Pickens Dragons. Matthew Ponton kicked off to the 15 yard line for the Rebels and Cole Stevenson stopped the return at the 18 yard line.

Lady Rebels win 15-3

An early lead for the Fannin County Lady Rebels softball team allowed for a victory over Christian Heritage 15-3 Wednesday, August 23. An error scored one run, Sydney German doubled, scoring one run. An error scored two runs. MaKayla Stiles was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

Cheer squad earns honors at camp

Ava DeCola, Katherine Tamberino, Ana Kaylor, Olivia Ray, Estrella Kreais and Sydney Chancey were seleted as 2023-24 All-American Cheerleaders. To qualify for the All-American Cheer, you must attend a major cheerleading summer camp hosted by NCA, UCA, or ACA.

Fannin beats Gilmer 38-14

The Fannin County High School Rebels football team took a big 38 to 14 win over the 515 rival Gilmer County Friday, August 25. The Rebels got off to a hot start during the first quarter of the game as quarterback Lawson Sullivan ran 41 yards for the Rebels’ first six points.
