An early lead for the Fannin County Lady Rebels softball team allowed for a victory over Christian Heritage 15-3 Wednesday, August 23.
An error scored one run, Sydney German doubled, scoring one run. An error scored two runs. MaKayla Stiles was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Myla Rogers drew a walk, scoring one run. Then, Aaleyah Rogers drew a walk, scoring one run. Callie Ensley singled, scoring one run, and Jayden Bailey was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. An error and a ground out by Aidyn Patterson helped the Lady Rebels extend their early lead in the third.
Bailey started in the circle for Fannin. She surrendered two hits and three runs over three and one-third innings, striking out five and walking one. Patterson appeared in relief for Lady Rebels. German and Ensley each collected two hits. Ensley drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Lady Rebels with three runs batted in. A. Rogers paced Fannin with three walks.
Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating ten walks for the game. The Lady Rebels were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. German made the most plays with five during the game.
