Lady Rebels fight back to beat North Cobb

The Fannin County Lady Rebels made a  comeback from a 13-point deficit to defeat North Cobb 52-44 Thursday, December 21. North Cobb went on a 13-point run to start the game, but the Lady Rebels came back to a 29-18 lead at halftime before closing out the victory.

Lady Cougars crush South Pitt

Copper Basin’s Lady Cougars hosted South Pittsburg Friday, December 15, for a non-district basketball game. The game stayed close until the second quarter, when the Lady Cougars pulled ahead and never looked back, cruising to a 60-46 win.

Fannin posts big win

The Fannin County Rebels took an exciting 68-44 region win over North Murray, Tuesday, December 12, in overtime, knocking off the Mountaineers and taking the #3 spot in Region 7AA. During the first quarter, the Rebels took an early lead 13-7.

Davis paces Fannin win over Union with 27

Senior Courtney Davis scored 27 points to lead the Fannin County Lady Rebels past Union County 68-50 Friday, December 15, The Lady Rebels had a strong first half, leading 40-18 at halftime and never looked back. Maggie Ledford and Davis each hit multiple three-pointers for Fannin.

Cross country runners honored at annual banquet

Fannin County High School’s cross country team gathered November 16 to celebrate its season with an end of the year banquet. About 100 people gathered to celebrate this year’s accomplishments.

Rebels post victory in first region game

The Rebels secured their first region victory 55-39 after battling Gordon Central Friday, December 1, on Fannin’s home court. Ben Bloch had five points in the first quarter.

The Fannin County Lady Rebels captured their first region win with a 74-39 decision over Gordon Central, Friday, December 1. The Lady Rebels controlled the game from the opening tip, never giving up a lead. A strong first half saw Fannin ahead 35-16 at halftime.

Lady Cougars gain victory over Towns

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars tipped off their 2023-2024 season on the road, as they traveled to Hiawassee, Georgia, to take on Towns County Tuesday, November 14. Copper Basin hung tough, but the Lady Indians pulled away in the second half to earn a hard fought 55-47 win.

Cougars post huge win over Nantahala

Copper Basin’s Cougar basketball team tipped off their 2023-2024 season Thursday, November 16, as they hosted Nantahala at Copper Basin High School. The Cougars raced out to a 38-8 lead at halftime and coasted the rest of the way, grabbing a 71-34 victory.
