Rebels post victory in first region game

The Rebels secured their first region victory 55-39 after battling Gordon Central Friday, December 1, on Fannin’s home court. Ben Bloch had five points in the first quarter.

The Fannin County Lady Rebels captured their first region win with a 74-39 decision over Gordon Central, Friday, December 1. The Lady Rebels controlled the game from the opening tip, never giving up a lead. A strong first half saw Fannin ahead 35-16 at halftime.

Lady Cougars gain victory over Towns

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars tipped off their 2023-2024 season on the road, as they traveled to Hiawassee, Georgia, to take on Towns County Tuesday, November 14. Copper Basin hung tough, but the Lady Indians pulled away in the second half to earn a hard fought 55-47 win.

Copper Basin’s Cougar basketball team tipped off their 2023-2024 season Thursday, November 16, as they hosted Nantahala at Copper Basin High School. The Cougars raced out to a 38-8 lead at halftime and coasted the rest of the way, grabbing a 71-34 victory.

It was a wild finish in the Fearless Football Forecasters in week 12, as we had a three-way tie going into the week. Suzianne Pass, Jeff Grimes, and John Spargo were all tied at the top setting up what would be a great finish.

The Fannin County High School Rebels won their scrimmage against Andrews High School 64-53 Wednesday, November 15. Senior Ben Bloch led the Rebels with 24 points followed by Jordan Richerson with 16. Freshman Kolton Kaylor put up 9 points. Matthew Ponton gave the Rebels 6 points.

Rebels end season in first round of playoffs

The Fannin County High School Rebels football team ended their season with a 33-27 playoff loss to North Cobb Christian (NCC) School Eagles Saturday, November 11. The Rebels finished 24th in AA across Georgia with a 3-3 region record and an overall 5-6 mark.
