Rebels earn first round playoff spot

The Fannin County High School Rebels punched their ticket to the GHSA AA State Football Playoffs with a 41-14 road victory over region opponent Haralson County Friday, November 3.

Zechariah Prater made history for Fannin County High School this past Saturday when he became the first runner, male or female, to win a state championship.
The Fannin County Lady Rebels volleyball team made it all the way to the Sweet 16 of state tournament competition this year before falling to Providence Christian Saturday. The team is shown after the game. Last Tuesday, the Lady Rebels advanced to the Sweet 16 with a first round state playoff win over The Walker School.

Long time Copper Basin High School football coach Mark Stone was honored as one of the schools’ Legends of the Game. Stone was recognized during the Cougars’ homecoming game Friday night.

The Fannin County Rebels used a strong second quarter to roll to a 42-14 Region 7AA football win over the Murray County High School Indians Friday, October 20. It was a do or die game for the Rebels as they hold out hopes of post season action.

Fannin falls in 31-28 decision

The Fannin County Rebels brought home a 31-28 loss handed them by the North Murray Mountaineers Friday, October 13, after a rainy and hard-fought game. Brody Paskill made the fair catch at the 24 yard line to start the game for the Rebels who were off and running for their first score.

The Copper Basin Cougars seemed to embrace Friday the 13th as they traveled to take on Lookout Valley Friday, October 13.

Lady Cougars fall in district

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars traveled to Chattanooga Tuesday, October 3, to start the District 4-A Volleyball Tournament at Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences. In the semi-finals, Copper Basin took on Chattanooga School of Liberal Arts.
