Cheer squad earns honors at camp

  • The FCHS cheer team traveled to Clemson this summer where they earned blue ribbons on all of their evaluations. The squad will also be entering competition cheer this season and they are eager to compete.     Ava DeCola, Katherine Tamberino, Ana Kaylor, Olivia Ray, Estrella Kreais and Sydney Chancey were seleted as 2023-24 All-American Cheerleaders.

    To qualify for the All-American Cheer, you must attend a major cheerleading summer camp hosted by NCA, UCA, or ACA.

    During the course of the camp, the cheerleaders are assessed based on their skills in stunts, tumblng, jumps, and overall performance.

    They are looking for cheerleaders that score highly in all of these areas and must exhibit strong personal values, leadership, positive attitudes, be team players, and have dedication to the sport.

    On the last day of camp, a select group of cheerleaders are chosen to receive the prestigious All-American Cheerleader award. Cheerleaders who receive this award may receive recognition at local and national competitions. This award can also be an important factor in getting a college scholarship for cheerleading. They are also invited to perform at high-profile events, such as “The Varsity Spirit Spectacular at the Walt Disney World Resort” this November.
