Virgie Dye

Virgie Carie Dye, age 93, of Morganton, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 25, 2020.  Funeral services were held Thursday, January 30, 2020, at 2 p.m. from the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Morganton. The family received friends Tuesday, January 28 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Mr. Gary Michael Setser, age 70, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away on April 6, 2020 in the Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton, Georgia.

Betty Thomas

Mrs. Betty Lou Thomas, age 84, of Blue Ridge, passed away on April 6, 2020 in the Pruitt Health Care in Blue Ridge. She was born on April 13, 1935, in Morganton, to the late Roy Daniel and Alice Elizabeth Beaver McDaris. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge.

Sandra Lohr

Mrs. Sandra Lee Turner Lohr, age 64, of Mineral Bluff, went home to be with the Lord on April 9, 2020. Sandy was a member of Kingtown Baptist Church, where she sang with the Kingtown Trio. She taught for 30 years at the Fannin County Preschool.

Regina Norwood

Regina Norwood, age 100, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Mineral Bluff.  She was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She graduated from Lawrence High School’s class of 1938. She worked many years at Nabisco and retired in 1981.

Hansel Taylor

Hansel Edward Taylor, 75, of Ocoee, Tennessee, passed away on April 6, 2020, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Hansel was born July 1, 1944, in Ducktown to Ulysses and Lena Hughes Taylor. He is a member of the Anchor Holds Baptist Church in Chatsworth, Georgia.

Edna Jacqueline “Jackie” Turner, age 76, of Morganton, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020 at the Union General Hospital in Blairsville, Georgia. She was born on February 20, 1944 in McCaysville, to the late Jack Towery and Edna Galloway Towery.

Isabel Waters

Isabel Dora Towe Waters, age 95, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at her home.  She was born on April 17, 1924 in Blairsville, Georgia to the late Thomas Andrew Martin Towe and Lena Savannah Nix Towe. Mrs. Waters was a homemaker. She was of the Church of God faith. Mrs.
