Lady Rebels win big over Gordon Central

McKinley Lord drove in four runs on three hits to lead the Fannin County Lady Rebels softball team past Gordon Central varsity Warriors 15-0, Tuesday, September 9. Lord doubled in the second scoring two, doubled in the first scoring one, and singled in the third scoring one.

Myla Rogers collected three hits in three at bats, as the Fannin County Lady Rebels softball defeated Darlington 20-5 Wednesday, September 3. Rogers doubled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the first inning.

Lady Cougars roll over Polk

The home crowd at Copper Basin High School August 26 saw a three-set shutout of cross-county rival Polk County 25-12, 25-11 and 25-12. Senior Kendra Deal led the way with seven aces while snatching up seven digs, two kills and 12 assists.

FANNIN LADY REBELS VOLLEYBALL WIN 11-9

The Fannin County High School (FCHS) Lady Rebels volleyball team is riding a four match winning streak following a pair of matches Thursday, August 28, in the FCHS gym. Fannin County opened the night with a 2-0 decision over Hiwassee Dam’s Lady Eagles.

Copper Basin’s Lady Cougars dominated Chattanooga Charter High School on the volleyball court, winning in three straight sets, 25-7, 25-6 and 25-7. Cora Kimsey paced Copper Basin with nine aces, two kills and two assists in the win.

Fannin County’s football Rebels took a 35-0 loss to a non-region foe, the Rabun County Wildcats, Friday, August 22, in Tiger, Georgia. The Rebels started the game on offense at the 13 yard line, but a loose ball on the first play allowed Rabun County to take over.

Two Fannin County High School baseball players signed Letters of Intent to play in college Tuesday, August 12. Carson Callihan, the winner of the Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame (FCSHOF) Male Athlete of the Year award, signed to play baseball for Young Harris College.
