The Fannin County Rebels football team pocketed a 21-14 win over region opponent Dade County, Friday, September 19. The Rebels took the opening kickoff and marched into the Wolverines territory before being forced to turn the ball over on downs.

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars volleyball team continued it’s winning ways for the 2025 season with a win on the road at Lookout Valley 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-14) September 9. This was their fifth win of the season. Leading the way for the Lady Cougars in aces was Addison Hyatt. She had eight.

Myla Rogers collected three hits in three at bats, as the Fannin County Lady Rebels softball defeated Darlington 20-5 Wednesday, September 3. Rogers doubled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the first inning.

The home crowd at Copper Basin High School August 26 saw a three-set shutout of cross-county rival Polk County 25-12, 25-11 and 25-12. Senior Kendra Deal led the way with seven aces while snatching up seven digs, two kills and 12 assists.
Fannin County’s Jasper Mealer (19) takes the handoff from Nate O’Neal (5) and heads around Union County defenders behind the blocking of Baylor Twiggs (55), Isaac Watkins (50), Jacob Green (77), and CJ Reece (23). The game was played Saturday afternoon in Blue Ridge after being postponed from the night before due to a shortage of officials.
