Bigfoot Boogie welcomed Pease Foundation runners

This year’s Bigfoot Boogie in the twin cities of McCaysville and Copperhill welcomed athletes from the Kyle Pease Foundation (KPF). The foundation empowers individuals with disabilities, providing the athletes inclusive sports experiences.

Cross country captures second, third at State

The Fannin County High School (FCHS) Rebels and Lady Rebels Cross Country teams returned from the Georgia High School Association A Division 1 State Championship meet Saturday, November 8. The boys team made history and the girls squad turned in another stellar finish.

Cougars headed to Friday night playoff

The Copper Basin High School Cougars football team finished up it’s season Thursday, October 30, with a game on the road against Sale Creek and is ready for it’s playoff game Friday night November 7 at Clay County High School in Celina, Tennessee.

Reece sets record; playoffs next for FC

  CJ Reece is now the all-time leading tackler for the Fannin County Rebels with 353 career stops to his credit.   Reece broke the old record held by Cooper Born of 339 last Thursday night against region rival Gordon Lee.

Flag opens region play with two wins

The Fannin County High School flag football team scored two wins Thursday October 30 at home against Rome and Ringgold. “Our girls kicked off region play with two big wins. We started the day against Rome and battled hard to come away with the victory.

Fannin wins first set, but falls in Elite 8

The Fannin County High School volleyball team’s 2025 season came to an end at the Elite Eight showdown in Bremen Wednesday, October 22. Fannin came out strong  in the first set, winning it 25-20. Fannin played three tough sets after that. Bremen won all three sets (13-25, 15-25, 11-25).

Rebels fall in region shootout

The Fannin Rebels football team took a tough 24-14 loss to the Christian Heritage (CHS) Lions Friday, October 24, dropping their region record to 4-2. Fannin received the opening kickoff, but the Rebels were stopped on their first offensive possession.

Fostering Fannin strives to provide ‘normal’ home life

Twinkling lights on a tree and presents beneath are sometimes absent for children in less than typical homes during Christmas time. While these children may really wish for a more “normal” home life, Fostering Fannin exists to make that wish more of a possibility.

Lady Rebels earn Elite Eight spot

The 24th-ranked Fannin County High School volleyball team traveled over 1000 miles in four days to earn a spot in the Georgia Single A Division Elite Eight with two wins in the 2025 state tournament.
