Flag opens region play with two wins

The Fannin County High School flag football team scored two wins Thursday October 30 at home against Rome and Ringgold. “Our girls kicked off region play with two big wins. We started the day against Rome and battled hard to come away with the victory.
The Fannin County High School volleyball team finished it’s 2025 season with an appearance in the Elite Eight. They played Bremen and lost in three sets. Fannin wins first set, but falls in Elite 8

The Fannin County High School volleyball team’s 2025 season came to an end at the Elite Eight showdown in Bremen Wednesday, October 22. Fannin came out strong  in the first set, winning it 25-20. Fannin played three tough sets after that. Bremen won all three sets (13-25, 15-25, 11-25).

Rebels take first

The FCHS Rebels cross country team came in first place at the Fast Break Challenge at Heritage High School in Ringgold, Georgia, Tuesday, October 21.

Rebels fall in region shootout

The Fannin Rebels football team took a tough 24-14 loss to the Christian Heritage (CHS) Lions Friday, October 24, dropping their region record to 4-2. Fannin received the opening kickoff, but the Rebels were stopped on their first offensive possession.

Fostering Fannin strives to provide ‘normal’ home life

Twinkling lights on a tree and presents beneath are sometimes absent for children in less than typical homes during Christmas time. While these children may really wish for a more “normal” home life, Fostering Fannin exists to make that wish more of a possibility.

Lady Rebels earn Elite Eight spot

The 24th-ranked Fannin County High School volleyball team traveled over 1000 miles in four days to earn a spot in the Georgia Single A Division Elite Eight with two wins in the 2025 state tournament.

Defense shines in Fannin win

The Fannin County High School football team brought home a big 48-13 region win over Armuchee High School, Friday, October 17. The Rebels opened the game with a touchdown scoring drive. Braden Walker returned the kickoff to the 35 yard line.

Copper Basin scores 44 in third victory

The Copper Basin High School Cougars traveled five miles from the Kentucky line to Byrdstown, Tennessee, Friday night and returned home 44-18 winners over Pickett County. The game, played on a baseball field, was dominated by the Cougars.  “It was quiet and there was not a lot of energy there.

Lady Cougars dominate Polk to open tourney

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars volleyball team showed their determination and strength against Polk County Oct. 6 during the opening district tournament at home. They dominated the game and won in three sets 25-13, 25-11 and 25-17.

Fannin flag team wins twice

It was smooth sailing for the Fannin County High School flag football team at Gilmer County High School Oct. 10 as they defeated Dalton Academy 35-6 and defeated Gilmer County 28-0. “My team showed up and showed out this week, earning big wins over both Gilmer and Dalton Academy.
