The Copper Basin Lady Cougars volleyball team continued it’s winning ways for the 2025 season with a win on the road at Lookout Valley 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-14) September 9. This was their fifth win of the season.
Leading the way for the Lady Cougars in aces was Addison Hyatt. She had eight. Cora Kimsey had five and Claire Ledford had four. Riley Akens had three and Kendra Deal rounded out the ace count with two.
Deal had 15 assists to lead the Lady Cougars in that category. Kimsey had two of them, and Ledford and Addison Hyatt had one each.
Alexis Hyatt had 13 kills in the game. Addison Hyatt had four, Kimsey and Ledford had three each, and Akens and Deal each had two.
Ledford and Alexis Hyatt were both solid in digs with seven each Deal followed with five sighs, Akens with four, Kimsey with three and Addison Hyatt with two.
In other action, the Lady Cougars played CSLA at home Sept. 4 and lost 3-0 (25-20, 25-7, 26-24). Addison Hyatt was strong with 16 digs in the game. She had three aces, two kills and two assists. Ledford had eight digs in the game. She also had two aces, one kill and one assist. Deal finished the game with 11 assists, seven digs, three kills and one ace. Akens had five digs in the game while putting three assists and three kills on the books. Kimsey finished with five digs, three kills and two assists. Alexis Hyatt had seven kills and one dig. Savanna Bloodworth had two digs in the game as well.
The Lady Cougars also played at CSSE September 11 and won in three sets, improving to 6-2 in the district.
