McKinley Lord drove in four runs on three hits to lead the Fannin County Lady Rebels softball team past Gordon Central varsity Warriors 15-0, Tuesday, September 9. Lord doubled in the second scoring two, doubled in the first scoring one, and singled in the third scoring one.
The Lady Rebels got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Lord doubled down the left field line, Sydney German doubled down the left field line, and Aubree Franklin singled to center field, each scoring one run.
They scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the second inning. Lord doubled, scoring two runs, Presley Daves tripled, scoring one run, German singled, scoring one run, Makayla Stiles drew a walk, scoring one run, and Ciara Harper lined out, scoring one run.
Fannin added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Gordon Central Varsity Warriors committed an error, Kylie Breeden walked, Lana Cook singled to left field, Stiles walked, Myla Rogers walked, and Lord singled to left field, each scoring one run.
Lord helped earned the win for Fannin Count allowing one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking none.
Breeden threw one inning of zero-run ball in relief. The pitcher surrendered one hit, striking out none and walking none.
The Lady Rebels totaled 13 hits in the game. German and Lord each collected three hits. Rogers collected two hits three at bats. Stiles paced the Lady Rebels with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying five walks for the game. Franklin and Rogers each stole multiple bases as the team ran wild on the base paths, accumulating seven stolen bases for the game. The team turned one double play in the game. The Lady Rebels were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Daves made the most plays with four.
