Myla Rogers collected three hits in three at bats, as the Fannin County Lady Rebels softball defeated Darlington 20-5 Wednesday, September 3. Rogers doubled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the first inning.
The Lady Rebels won thanks in part to 15 runs in the first inning. Sydney German singled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, Makayla Stiles was struck by a pitch, driving in a run; Rogers singled, scoring one run; McKinley Lord singled, scoring two runs; Presley Daves singled, scoring two runs; German tripled, scoring one run; Olivia Hill tripled, scoring one run; Aubree Franklin drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Stiles doubled, scoring one run.
Darlington got on the board in the top of the first inning with a walk, and a fielder’s choice, each scoring one run.
Fannin County added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after scoring on a passed ball; German singled to center field, and Franklin singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
The Lady Rebels added two runs in the third. Rogers doubled to center field on a 3-0 count, making the score 20-5.
Kylie Breeden helped earn the win for Fannin. The hurler gave up one hit and two runs over one inning, striking out one and walking two. Cason Roper appeared in relief.
The Lady Rebels totaled 12 hits in the game. German provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the team with four runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 3-for-3 on the day. German and Rogers each collected three hits. Ciara Harper paced the Lady Rebels with two walks.
Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Harper, Franklin, and Rogers each stole multiple bases and as a team, they stole 11 bases in the game.
