Rebels win tournament, season record perfect 12-0

The Fannin County Rebels defeated Gilmer County, 54-51, Monday, December 22, to maintain their perfect season record at 12-0 and capture the Piedmont Mountainside Holiday Classic Championship. Kolton Kaylor scored 27 points and grabbed 18 rebounds  to pace the Rebels’ victory.

Eighth grade girls capture second league title

The Fannin County Middle School eighth grade girls ended their final middle school  game as winners December 17 at Fannin high school’s gym 34-27.

Fannin County cruises to 72-18 win over Copper Basin Cougars

The Fannin County Rebels took a solid 72-18 victory over Copper Basin’s Cougars, Saturday, December 20 in the Piedmont Holiday Classic being played at Gilmer County High School in Ellijay.

Lady Cougars win

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars hit the road December 12 to face Sweetwater High School and came home with an easy victory 70-35. “I thought the girls came out aggressively from the jump and overcame some early foul trouble and still took control from the start.

Rebels now 8-0

Kolton Kaylor and Keaton Watkins teamed up to lead the Fannin County Rebels past Gilmer County, 66-52, Saturday, December 13, as they move to 8-0. Watkins scored 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, while Kaylor scored 18 points.

Lady Rebels win

The Fannin County Lady Rebels defeated Gilmer County, 54-51, in the rivalry game Saturday, December 13, as Reese Lewis scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The Lady Rebels had a strong first half, leading 23-20 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory.

Lady Rebels defeat Morgan

The Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team defeated Morgan County, 53-46, Saturday, December 6, at the Woold Elite Classic, as Reese Lewis scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. The game was a back-and-forth battle with seven lead changes in the game.

Rebels remain perfect at 5-0

The Fannin County Rebels basketball team took a 65-40 win over Dade County, Friday, December 5,  as Kolton Kaylor scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. The Rebels had a strong first half on their way to a 5-0 season, leading 35-19 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory.

Fannin wins before playoff run ends

The Fannin High School Lady Rebels flag footballers  dominated it’s first game in the state playoffs Thursday, December 4 at home. The Lady Rebels played Mays County and defeated them 20-6.

Lady Cougars fall to Fannin County

Fannin County’s Lady Rebels and Copper Basin’s Lady Cougars got off to a neck and neck start when the two teams squared off in Blue Ridge Saturday, November 29. That quickly changed in the second quarter when Fannin took control on their way to a 74-46 victory. The opening quarter was a slugfest.
