Fannin takes down Union Co. 85-59

Kolton Kaylor scored 21 points, grabbed 17 rebounds, and passed for 10 assists to lead the Fannin County Rebels basketball past the defending AA State Runner-up Union County in an 85-59 victory, Tuesday, November 25.

Lady Rebels win 66-49 over Union

The Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team earned their first win of the 2025-26 season with a 66-49 victory over Union County, Tuesday, November 25, as Reese Lewis scored 19 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to pace Fannin County.

Fannin beats Pickens 81-64

A double-double by Kolton Kaylor with 26 points and 12 rebounds helped the Fannin County Rebels basketball team to their first win of the year over the Pickens County Dragons, 81-64, Tuesday, November 18.  The Rebels trailed 38-33 at halftime before coming back for the victory.

Lady Cougars look to build on historic season

The Copper Basin High School Lady Cougars 2025-26 basketball team hopes to build on its historic 2024-25 season with another state playoff run.

Flag picks up wins over Dalton, Heritage

The 8-2 Fannin County High School Rebels flag footballers had an easy time defeating the winless Dalton Academy Pumas 41-0 in Dalton November 13 and found a defensive battle with Heritage the same day. They came out on top of that one 12-6. Against Dalton Academy, it was a pretty easy game.

This year’s Bigfoot Boogie in the twin cities of McCaysville and Copperhill welcomed athletes from the Kyle Pease Foundation (KPF). The foundation empowers individuals with disabilities, providing the athletes inclusive sports experiences.

Cross country captures second, third at State

The Fannin County High School (FCHS) Rebels and Lady Rebels Cross Country teams returned from the Georgia High School Association A Division 1 State Championship meet Saturday, November 8. The boys team made history and the girls squad turned in another stellar finish.

Cougars headed to Friday night playoff

The Copper Basin High School Cougars football team finished up it’s season Thursday, October 30, with a game on the road against Sale Creek and is ready for it’s playoff game Friday night November 7 at Clay County High School in Celina, Tennessee.

Reece sets record; playoffs next for FC

  CJ Reece is now the all-time leading tackler for the Fannin County Rebels with 353 career stops to his credit.   Reece broke the old record held by Cooper Born of 339 last Thursday night against region rival Gordon Lee.
