The Fannin County Lady Rebel volleyball team has been on a solid roll the last week, starting with the Rally on the Ridge tournament Saturday, September 18. The Lady Rebels started the tournament against Hiwassee Dam as the Lady Rebels won the match (2-1),
After the win against the Hiwassee Dam Lady Eagles, the Lady Rebels continued their hot hand and faced the Pickens Dragonettes.
Morgan Craine, Kaylie Davenport, Reagan York and Rachel Prater were key contributors in the win.
Pickens and Fannin battled back and forth, but after the dust settled, the Lady Rebels came away a (2-0) winner.
Reigan O’Neil, Rachel Bruce, Sydney Chancey and Emmaline Cochran played a big part in the Lady Rebels success.
The undefeated Lady Rebels then faced off against the Lake Oconoee Academy Titans. Fannin rolled and was able to seal a (2-0) victory to start the tournament off 3-0.
Addison Smith, Ava Queen, Destiny Weeks, Rylee King and Bailee Stiles had great games for the Lady Rebels.
The Lady Rebels faced off against Calhoun in the next match, and the Lady Rebels got off to a sluggish start. The end result was Calhoun taking a (2-1) victory over the Lady Rebels.
Cali Tuggle, Emma Holloway, Kaylie Kendall, Maddie Pelfry, Mikayla Holloway and Aubree McClure had solid matches.
Fannin County shook off the loss and faced Pickens County for the second time in the evening, and this time the Dragonettes got their revenge as they topped the Lady Rebels (2-1) in a nailbiter to put the Lady Rebels out of the tournament.
The Lady Rebels shook off the loss as they traveled to Trion County Tuesday, September 21, to take on Trion and Dade County. Fannin played well against both teams splitting matches. The Lady Rebels took the match against Trion, winning (2-0). In the second match against Dade County, the Lady Rebels fell behind and could not recover as the Lady Wolverines won the match (2-0).
The Lady Rebels also hosted Chattooga High School on Wednesday, September 21.
Chattooga and Fannin went back and forth, but the Lady Rebels were able to top Chattooga (2-1) for a region victory.
