Fannin County High School students who make up the Blue Crew during the season were ready for football action Friday night when the Rebels took on the Pickens County Dragons for a scrimmage game at the FCHS stadium.
The 1942-43 Blue Ridge boys basketball team was inducted into the Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame this year. Children and relatives of team members, from left, John Querry, representing his father Ed Querry; Johnny Farmer, for his father Junior Farmer; Marie McGill Herndon, for her uncle Bill McGill; and Fred Jones Jr., for his father, attended the induction ceremony and accepted the plaque. Other team members were Jack Miller and Oliver LeMaster.
Lady Rebel senior Aidyn Patterson is expected to be one of the leaders on Fannin County’s varsity softball team.

The Blue Ridge Freedom 5K was not just for serious runners, but for those who wanted to start the July 4 celebration in Blue Ridge with their own style, as many entrants brought along babies and dogs.
