Lady Rebels score win over Lady Lions

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels softball team defeated the Christian Heritage Lady Lions 12-3 Tuesday, August 27.

Callie Ensley collected three hits in four at bats to lead the Lady Rebel victory. Ensley hit a solo home run to left field in the fourth inning, tripled in the first inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

The Lady Rebels got on the board in the top of the first inning after Ensley tripled, Sydney German doubled, Megan Davis scored after tagging up, and Aidyn Patterson singled, each scoring one run.

A ground out by German extended the Fannin lead to 6-1 in the top of the second inning.

Ensley’s home run to left field was in the top of the fourth for the Lady Rebels.

Fannin scored five runs on six hits in the top of the fifth inning. Myla Rogers grounded out, scoring one run, Aaleyah Rogers singled, scoring one run, Ensley singled, scoring one run, German tripled, scoring one run, and Krislyn Odom singled, scoring one run.

Natalie Herendon stepped in the circle first for Fannin. The hurler allowed zero hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking one.

Patterson helped earn the win in the circle for the Lady Rebels. The reliever surrendered two hits and two runs (zero earned) over two innings, striking out four and walking none.

The Lady Rebels totaled 14 hits in the game. German and Ensley were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs. Herendon and Rogers each collected multiple hits for Fannin. Rogers stole two bases, and as a team the Lady Rebels stole six bases in the game.

The Lady Rebels will travel to Chattooga Thursday, September 5, to continue region play.
