Lady Cougars improve record

The Copper Basin Lady Cougars volleyball team improved their overall record to 3-3 and their district worksheet to 3-2 with a varsity win over Lookout Valley last week.

Copper Basin won the match 25-15, 25-13, and 25-12.

Riley Akens paced Copper Basin with 10 kills, one ace, seven digs and two assists.

Five kills were scored by Alexis Hyatt who also recorded an ace and two digs.

Claire Ledford and Cora Kimsey both had three kills for the Lady Cougars. Kimsey added four aces, one block, six digs and one assist. Ledford also had two aces and two digs.

Setting the pace in assists was Kendra Deal with 16. She added a kill, six aces and three digs to her match totals.

Other Lady Cougars contributing to the victory were:

•Savanna Bloodworth with one kill and one assist;

•Trinity Smith with two digs;

•Kenzlie Ballew with a trio of aces, two digs and a block;

•Addison Hyatt with a solo kill, two aces and a dig; and,

•Zoe Green with two kills, two aces and five digs.
