John Holsonback remembered

Senior class members who take part in a variety of activities were honored prior to the football game against Gordon Lee Friday night, November 1.

The honorees included members of the Fannin County Rebels football team, athletic trainer, video file crew, cheer team, band, cross country team, and one act play.

The final Rebel football player to be honored was John Holsonback. During an emotional ceremony, his #52 jersey was retired. John tragically lost his life in a car crash April 1, 2024.

In a tribute read during the ceremony, it was said of John, “Whether on the field, off the field or in the classroom or community, John was a leader amongst all.

“John’s legacy is his faith, his family, his friends and his love for Friday nights. John was the kind of young man that all inspired to be: honest, trustworthy, hard working, unselfish, and a servant to all.

“John’s smile was contagious, and it spread joy to others around him.

“John, you will always live in our hearts, our souls and our minds. However, we know that you are resting in the presence of your Heavenly Father.”
