Brook Patton signs with Piedmont College

Fannin County senior Lady Rebel Brook Patton recently chose to further her academic and athletic career by signing a scholarship to play tennis at Piedmont College. She will be pursuing a  major in biology in order to achieve a lifelong dream of going into the dental field.

She has played tennis and lettered all four years at Fannin County High School (FCHS).  Patton played the number three singles spot her freshman year, later capturing and playing the number one singles spot her sophomore through senior years.

Patton has earned the most singles wins for female players in both her sophomore and junior seasons. Unfortunately, senior year was cut short, and she was only able to play one match which she won in three sets.

Patton’s academic achievements include: being on the honor roll and principal’s list all four years of high school.  Being a member of the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. Participating on the academic team all four years, and also being a part of the Engineering Teams her freshman year through junior year.  She will finish her high school career with a 4.0 GPA and is ranked seventh in her class.

Patton said one of her favorite memories from her years playing tennis is traveling to away matches on the little white bus with the team and Coach Pass who always provided plenty of essential oils and Panda Express.

FCHS Lady Rebels Tennis Coach Suzianne Pass expressed her excitement  for Patton, saying, “Brook has worked very hard during her four years at FCHS. She is one of the top class academically and one of the most hard working athletes at FCHS. She loves the game of tennis and has always given her all while competing.”

Pass continued, “The Piedmont College tennis team is very lucky to be getting this type of tennis player. I know she will represent FCHS well while she continues her career at Piedmont. I am very proud of her and her accomplishments, and I look forward to what she accomplishes at Piedmont. I really hate that her senior season is over. I know she would have been extremely successful this season. I wish her the best.”

Patton plans on attending Piedmont College in the Fall.
