Fannin County Recreation Center officially open

The Fannin County Recreation Department re-opened its doors Monday, May 4, to a limited number of people from the Fannin and Polk County areas.

Recreation Department Director Eddie O’Neal said, “Phase one of the re-open is going great, we are very pleased. Everyone is following instructions and doing their part to keep everyone safe.”

Athletic Coordinator Tim Towe expressed his excitment about the re-open  saying, “We are thrilled with how well the re-opening has been going. We enjoy everyone that comes in to play pickleball and walk, but we still miss the kids.”

The Recreation Department is still allowing visitors by appointment only at this time.

To schedule an appointment for pickleball or indoor walking, call 706-946-1130. The recreation center is still limiting appointments to one hour.
