The Copper Basin Lady Cougars hosted the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences (CSAS) Thursday, August 19. Both teams battled relentlessly, but it was CSAS that jumped out in front and won the game against Copper Basin (3-1).
The first set started with CSAS leading 7-5. The Lady Cougars tried to battle back getting within one point, but the Lady Patriots started to pull away to lead 25-13.
Sapporiah Ross, Chelsea Stuart and Gracie Smith helped the Lady Cougars battle back in the second set, but the Lady Patriots came away from the victors, winning the second set 25-16.
With the game on the line, Sydney Hickey, Destiny Pittman, Channing Beach, Albani Dotson and Ally Foster battled in the third set as the Lady Cougars came back after being down 8-4 to win the set 25-23 and force a fourth set.
Aliah Lunsford, Raegan Higdon, Brintlie Beach, Laura Chinnel and Makenna Miles played well in the final set, but could not overcome the Lady Patriots as CSAS tightened up to best Copper Basin 25-10 as they claimed the match.
