The Fannin County Lady Rebels captured their first region win with a 74-39 decision over Gordon Central, Friday, December 1.
The Lady Rebels controlled the game from the opening tip, never giving up a lead. A strong first half saw Fannin ahead 35-16 at halftime.
The second quarter saw the Lady Rebels outscore Gordon Central 20-6 built on four assists.
Defensively, the Lady Rebels played hot, blocking five shots and grabbing 15 steals. They controlled the paint, grabbing 40 rebounds.
Reese Lewis led the team with eight rebounds. Fannin passed the ball well with 14 assists on 27 made baskets. Senior Courtney Davis led the scoring with 22 points. Also contributing for the Lady Rebels were Jace Sanderson with 14 points, Maggie Ledford with nine points, and Avi Ethington with eight points. Lewis and Macy Hawkins both put in six points and Emma Holloway added four points. Emma Buchanan added a three point shot. Callie Ensley and Izzie Jabaley each added a free throw.
