Courtney Davis signs with Young Harris

Lady Rebel Courtney Davis signed her letter of intent to continue her athletic and academic career at Young Harris College.

Throughout her basketball playing days at Fannin County High School, Davis has had a career high of 32 points in a game along with multiple 20-plus point games, a career high of six assists, six rebounds, and multiple games with a career high of five steals.

Her performances as a Lady Rebels have netted her many awards, beginning her freshman year with a 2021 7-AA First Team All-Region selection. Her sophomore year saw the 2022 7-AA Region Player of the Year award, an ETC All Tournament Team selection that she received multiple times following, the GHSA All-State 2A Best Shooter award, a GHSA All-State Second Team selection and a GACA North First Team All-State selection.

Davis’ junior year saw a GHSA second team all-state selection, a GACA North First Team All-State selection, an Atlanta Journal Constitution 2023 Second Team All-State selection, the 2023 Region 7-AA Region Player of the Year award, the 2023 FYN North GA Player Of The Year award, the 2023 Northwest Georgia Tip-Off Club Player Of The Year award and the 2023 Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame Female Athlete of the Year award.

Lady Rebels Head Coach Ryan Chastain said, “We are so proud of Courtney! She’s worked so hard to earn this opportunity! Through this whole process she has known exactly what she wanted, and she went out and got it. Young Harris is getting an unbelievable player. I’m glad she’s staying close to home, and I can’t wait to watch her succeed at collegiate level.”

Davis will be in action for her senior year debut alongside the Lady Rebels with a scrimmage against Andrews, North Carolina, Wednesday, November 15, at 6 p.m. and will open the season at Pickens County Tuesday, November 28.
