FCSHOF INDUCTION BANQUET HELD
The 1942-43 Blue Ridge boys basketball team was inducted into the Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame this year. Children and relatives of team members, from left, John Querry, representing his father Ed Querry; Johnny Farmer, for his father Junior Farmer; Marie McGill Herndon, for her uncle Bill McGill; and Fred Jones Jr., for his father, attended the induction ceremony and accepted the plaque. Other team members were Jack Miller and Oliver LeMaster.
The late Ronnie Reid was inducted, and his plaque was presented by FCSHOF board member Tom Hamby to Ronnie’s cousin Larry Sparks,
Inductee Sherry Callihan Thacker accepted her plaque from her high school coach, Buzz Quintrell.
Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame inductee Dustin Carder accepted his plaque and is shown with his wife Sara and children Adelay and Brintlie.
Inductee Geoffrey Daves accepted his Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame plaque from board member Windell Davis.
Inductee Seth McClure was not in attendance and his plaque was presented to his sister McKenzie by FCSHOF board member Tim Towe
The 2007 Fannin County High School football team was represented at the Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame (FCSHOF) induction by, among others, Coach Clark Drennan and players Logan Daves, Geoffrey Daves, Bryant Meeks, Josh Postell and Cody Raper.
The Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame welcomed the 2024 class during its annual induction banquet earlier this summer in the Performing Arts Center on the Fannin County High School campus.
