Middle school runners shine at state

Several Fannin County Middle School Track & Field athletes went up against the highest level of competition from around Georgia at the Middle School Track & Field State Championships Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25.

Rebels capture region title

The Fannin County High School boys soccer team is the 2026 Region 7A D-1 champions with a decisive regular season victory March 31 over the defending 2025 state champion Armuchee Indians, combined with Coosa’s win over Dalton Academy on April 2.

Lady Rebels win region

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels soccer team is Region 7A D-1 Champions for 2026. “I’m so proud of the girls,” Head Coach Nancy Jessen said. “I’m so happy for them.” The championship is the result of a huge 3-1 win over Armuchee March 31. The game was a solid team effort.

Lady Rebels defeat Rabun in Senior Night showdown

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels Track & Field Team defeated Rabun County High School at Fannin’s home meet Monday, March 30. The meet included the Senior Night celebration. The top two athletes and first place relay teams scored points for the team.

Fannin golfers take on Pickens with mixed results

The Fannin County High School boys golf team  won  their match with Pickens County March 23 by a score of 36-38, then played Union County March 26 and narrowly lost 44-46. The girls golf team fell to Pickens County 116 to 110 March 23 and lost to Union County 116-112 March 26.

Lady Rebels post 3-2 victory

In region action, the Fannin County High School Lady Rebels tennis team  picked up a win 3-2 over Gorden Lee March 26 at Lakeshore Point. In number one singles, Sadie Patton easily won her two out of three set match 6-0 and 6-0 while Maddie Schueneman won 7-6 and 6-3 in number two doubles.

Flag football team earns season honors

Commitment, effort, supportive, toughness and hard work were words Head Coach Dawson King used to describe the 2026 Fannin County High School flag football team at the teams awards banquet at the Fannin County Agricultural Facility. “You represented our program the right way,” King said.

Boys tennis turns back Gordon Ctrl.

The Fannin County High School boys tennis team hosted Gordon Central High School March 19 and came home winners 5-0. In number one singles, Cayson Mitchell won his match in three sets 6-0, 4-6 and 6-2. In number two singles, Garrett Pittman won in two sets 6-0 and 6-0.

Fannin County High School track and field athletes and relay teams ranked in Georgia’s Top 50 competed at Roswell High School Saturday, March 21, against elite competition from throughout the state.
