Commitment, effort, supportive, toughness and hard work were words Head Coach Dawson King used to describe the 2026 Fannin County High School flag football team at the teams awards banquet at the Fannin County Agricultural Facility.

“You represented our program the right way,” King said.

King and assistant coaches Taylor and Carson Collis presented academic, participation and letter awards in additional to special achievement awards during the March 25 banquet.

Academic awards were given to those who excelled in their studies for the 2026 school year. Participation awards were also given.

The Most Athletic Award went to first-year player Cheatham. The award was given to the player who consistently displayed outstanding physical ability and used it to elevate their game. “I would have several coaches email me asking where I found this speed demon,” King said.

The Most Spirited Award went to Golden. The award went to the player who brought energy every single day and their positivity, enthusiasm and love for the game lifted everyone up.

The Most Improved Award went to first-year player Sams. The award went to the player who showed the most growth over the course of the season.

King acknowledged the seniors who showed up early, stayed late, pushed through tough practices, tough loses and big moments. “You set the tone for what this team is supposed to be,” King said.

He gave the team the advice to show up, work hard and be someone who people can count on.”
