Lady Cougars dominate CSLA

The contest between the Copper Basin’s girls basketball team and Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts (CSLA) was a close one early, then a complete Lady Cougar domination followed, which led to an 84-23 Basin win at home January 14. The game was competitve early.

Davenport, Lewis pace Fannnin victory

Braylee Davenport scored 16 points, and Reese Lewis had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds as the Fannin County Lady Rebels defeated Gordon Central, 88-5, Tuesday, January 13.  The first quarter was the best for Fannin as they outscored Gordon Central 32-2.

Rebels win big 60-42

Kolton Kaylor and Keaton Watkins teamed up to lead the Fannin County Rebels in a win over Dade County, 60-42, Friday, January 16. Watkins scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Kaylor scored 21 points. It was a back-and-forth battle, with seven lead changes throughout the game.

2021 Lady Rebels built today’s foundation

The 2021 Lady Rebels basketball team was the team that built a strong foundation for continued program success. On the road to achieving a stellar overall final record of 23-5, they had many accomplishments. They were undefeated at home in the regular season and during the state tournament.

Cole paces fourth quarter comeback

Albany Cole hit three, three point shots in the fourth quarter to pace the Fannin County Lady Rebels comeback win  over visiting Gordon Lee Tuesday, January 6. Cole scored 14 points to set the pace for the victory, joined by Reese Lewis who scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

The trip to Benton on Monday night January 5 was a successful one for the Copper Basin High School girls basketball team as they routed cross-county rival Polk County High School 66-47.

Five Lady Rebels score in double digits for victory

Five Lady Rebels hit double digits in the win over Model High School, Tuesday, December 30, to earn a 69-56 victory. Leading was Reese Lewis, who scored 15 points and grabbed 19 rebounds, and Maggie Ledford, who scored 16 points.

Jamari Dunn has rapidly made his mark across Georgia during his freshman season running with the Fannin County High School cross country team. Dunn has been named to the 2025 All-State Cross Country All-Freshman Boys Team.

Seventh grade met goals

The Fannin County Middle School seventh grade girls basketball team had high expectations for the 2025 season and met those goals in a big way. They were crowned the 2025 Mountain League Champions. Head Coach Natasha Anderson said there were no surprises this season.

The 14 members of the 2025 Mountain League Champion Fannin County Middle School eighth grade girls basketball team had a remarkable season and it is due to overcoming lots of challenges and never giving up. “I think they learned a lot of valuable lessons not just in basketball, but in life.
