Health district offering Monkeypox vaccine

The North Georgia Health District (NGHD) is now offering Monkeypox vaccinations and testing. The NGHD has only received limited doses of the monkeypox vaccine as part of the distribution of federally funded JYNNEOS vaccine to public health districts throughout Georgia.

Students learn respect for flag

Several members of local veterans organizations taught Blue Ridge Elementary School fifth graders proper respect for the United States flag, how it is to be folded, raised and lowered, during a special Flag Etiquette class at the school last week.

They had a good time “holding up” a bus on one of the new lifts. Accolades echoed for the Fannin County School System’s bus drivers and the new Transportation Facility when the building was officially dedicated Thursday morning, August 18. School system leaders, members of the transportation department and others gathered at 8 a.m.

A suspect seen in the area of Blue Ridge Knife the morning it was burglarized  has been arrested by Blue Ridge police and charged with that burglary and several other crimes.

Residents opposed to CHI’s biosolid plan

Polk County commissioners heard from Buddy Haynes about plans for Copperhill Industries, LLC, (CHI), then listened as residents said a resounding “no” to those plans.
