Polk County authorities are continuing their investigation into a death reported Thursday morning, November 10. Detective Cody Day of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said Monday deputies responded to 273 Durwood Drive, Copperhill, where they located Brenda A.

Humane society closer to opening clinic

The Humane Society of Blue Ridge is getting closer to opening its new low-cost veterinarian clinic for residents of Fannin County who may not be able to afford basic veterinary care for their pets.

Set clocks back, check smoke alarms this weekend

It’s that time of year again to set clocks back an hour as Daylight Saving Time ends. It’s also the time fire departments remind homeowners it’s time to change smoke alarm batteries. Clocks are to be officially turned back at 2 a.m.
