Johnson doesn’t trust budget numbers

“I don’t trust one number on one sheet of paper sitting in front of me,” Fannin County Post One Commissioner Earl Johnson said about the proposed 2020 budget during a Board of Commissioners meeting Tuesday, November 26. “I don’t believe in one number that’s on here.

There are many fun, playful dogs at Fannin County Animal Control waiting for a good home. Animal Control Officers and volunteers alike hope folks may be willing to open their home and their hearts to the dogs in their facility.

Freedom for Fido aims to give chained up dogs a new lease on life

There is a new charity in town and its purpose is to free dogs currently sentenced to life on a chain. Freedom for Fido (FFF) is the work of Jackie and Fritz Gilbert. The non-profit builds fences for low income families whose dogs live their lives on a chain.

Polk commissioners assigned to committees

Polk County commissioners have been assigned to committees for the following year by Chairwoman Debbie Davis. Besides Davis, commissioners Daniel Deal, Jeremy Kimsey, Samantha Trantham, Greg Brooks, John Pippenger, Mark Evans, Dewey Esquinance and James Woody all have specific duties.
