Attempted murder added to charges

The suspect in a McCaysville home invasion is now being held in the Fannin County Detention Center charged with attempted murder and the officer who shot him to end the hostage situation has been cleared of any wrongdoing.

In the past week, Fannin County Animal Control officers brought in five dogs. One dog was reclaimed by their owner, two went to Doggone Rescue and one went to the Humane Society.

The arts and crafts sale held customarily in the fall and spring at the Old State Farmer’s Market in Blue Ridge, has a new name but needs vendors and a formal organizer.
