Haven Angel comes to the rescue at Copper Basin

"We had a student that was struggling and having, just having a hard time, and she didn’t really feel like she had a friend or really someone she could really confide in or trust except for a neighbor’s dog,” Copper Basin Elementary School Principal Janessa Nipper said.

Renowned jazz artist Joe Gransden and his jazz trio will perform Saturday, February 22, at 7:30 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Community Theater (BRCT). The performance is a part of BRCT’s Live Music is Better series.

Habitat talks homeownership

Four Old Broads hits the stage

“Four Old Broads” is taking the main stage during the Blue Ridge Community Theater’s (BRCT) 20th season. “This rambunctious senior comedy is an absolute riot, a laugh-a-minute comedy with an experienced allstar cast,” said BRCT Production Manager Joseph Nicolella.

Noah Sims to cook for St. Anthony fundraiser

Noah Sims will be doing the cooking as St. Anthony Catholic Church members host a fundraising dinner to help their kids’ church building fund. The spaghetti dinner event will be held Saturday, February 22, from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at St. Anthony, located at 967 East Main Street in Blue Ridge.
Homestead Hospice of Blairsville presented Earlyne Simmons with a Quilt of Valor for her service in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era Friday, January 31. The ceremony was held at the Fannin County Senior Center, where she was surrounded by her family; son and daughter-in-law, Shaun and Tara Simmons; grandchildren, Della, Shaun Jr. and Michael; and relative, Debbie Simmons.
