Low cost cat spay/neuter event planned Sat. at Basin vet clinic

The Knights of Columbus and Copper Basin Veterinary Clinic will offer a low cost cat neuter and spay clinic Saturday, February 15 from 8 a.m. to noon at Copper Basin Veterinary Clinic.
The clinic is located in McCaysville at 163 East Tennessee Avenue.

Fire & Ice coming to Blue Ridge Sat.

The 10th Annual Fire & Ice Chili Cook-Off will be held in downtown Blue Ridge this Saturday, February 15.
The event brings award-winning chili recipes, ice sculptures and live music to Blue Ridge for a winter event that draws thousands of people to the downtown area each year.

The Toccoa River quickly rose to near the bottom of William T. “Boss” Mull Memorial Bridge in McCaysville Thursday, February 6. Heavy rains caused high water across the area and conditions were expected to worsen this week as a heavy weekend snow was being followeda by more heavy rain Monday and Tuesday morning. Officials were warning citizens to be cautious in areas of high water.
