Valentine’s Day is this Friday, and for some of the residents at PruittHealth, it can be a lonely time.
In fact, according to a recent study by AARP, one in five older adults feel isolated, and nonmarried adults 50 years and older – who are not in romantic relationships – are more than likely to feel alone when thinking about Valentine’s Day.
“This is why our team at PruittHealth – Blue Ridge is looking to partner with community members to bring joy to patients – especially those who don’t receive visitors regularly – in an effort to make sure all patients feel the love this Valentine’s Day,” Jordan Herr with PruittHealth said. “Together, we can ensure no older adult in Blue Ridge feels forgotten this Valentine’s Day, and with a simple act of kindness, we can do our part to improve the health and well-being of older adults in the community.”
PruittHealth would like to collect as many Valentine’s Day cards and letters to ensure all their patients “feel the love they deserve.”
Those wishing to send cards to residents can do so by mailing them to send cards and letters to 99 Ouida St., Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
