“Four Old Broads” is taking the main stage during the Blue Ridge Community Theater’s (BRCT) 20th season.
“This rambunctious senior comedy is an absolute riot, a laugh-a-minute comedy with an experienced allstar cast,” said BRCT Production Manager Joseph Nicolella.
Beatrice Shelton, retired burlesque queen, convinces her best friend Eaddy Mae Clayton to join her on a sassy seniors cruise through the Caribbean. However, a new nurse at their assisted living home has moved many residents to “the dark side,” and Shelton wants to know why. Questions of what is that mysterious pill and whatever happened to Doctor Head plague the ladies as well.
A mystery unfolds with laughter as the gals try to outsmart the evil nurse Pat Jones.
The show opens March 5 and runs Thursday through Sunday until March 22 at 7:30 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sundays.
Carolina Curtain Call reviewed the debut saying, “If ‘The Golden Girls’ was rebooted today, it would look much like ‘Four Old Broads,’ a clever geriatric comedy.”
