Voting underway in Blue Ridge

City of Blue Ridge voters can now head to City Hall and cast votes for the city council post three seat vacated by Ken Gaddis. Mike Panter and Brian Higgins are facing each other to fill the spot.

David Ralston and Steve Gooch, who represent Fannin County under the Gold Dome in Atlanta, were both challenged for re-election as qualifying ended last week for Georgia’s 2020 elections.

Adopt A Pet

Please be aware that Fannin County Animal Control has far exceeded capacity. With only 18 kennels, there are some 30 dogs currently housed. Folks are urged to foster, adopt, reclaim dogs at the shelter as Animal Control officers are allowed to euthanize.

The Daughters of the American Revolution’s (DAR) Old Unicoi Trail Chapter selected Fannin County High School senior Hannah Cruse, of Morganton, as the schools’ National Good Citizen.
