The starting date of Georgia high school football was announced Monday, July 20, at the Georgia High School Association meeting. The board members stated that football conditioning would remain on schedule to start Monday, July 27.
The board made the decision to push back the first week games from August 21, to September 4. There will still be a 10-game regular season followed by five rounds of playoffs in football.
All other GHSA fall sports will remain as scheduled.
