Copper Basin Youth Sports joins Mountain Athletic Conference

The Copper Basin Youth Sports League has recently joined the Mountain Athletic Conference.  Copper Basin will join Chestatee, Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Pickens, Union and White Counties as their 6U through 11U football teams will compete for a chance to win the Super Bowl.

Tim Towe, president of Football for the MAC, said, “We are extremely excited about the addition of Copper Basin into the Mountain Athletic Conference Football League. They fit our league perfectly with their location and numbers.”

Towe continued, “They are bringing four teams into our league which is huge for the league. I am excited for the Fannin vs. Copper Basin matchups and the Gilmer vs. Copper Basin matchups. I think if and when we are able to have fans in the stands, many people in all these communities will come out and support all the young athletes. Jeremy Pittman does a great job being over the youth football program, and we are looking forward to continuing our relationship with the great  people from Copper Basin.”

The Mountain Athletic Conference will begin practice in July and the season September 12.
