A double-double by Kolton Kaylor with 26 points and 12 rebounds helped the Fannin County Rebels basketball team to their first win of the year over the Pickens County Dragons, 81-64, Tuesday, November 18.
The Rebels trailed 38-33 at halftime before coming back for the victory. The team went on a 19-2 run to take the lead.
Kaylor scored 11 points in the fourth quarter as Fannin outscored Pickens 27-10.
The Rebels were deadly from inside the paint, finishing 32-54 on twos. The Rebels also rebounded the ball well, collecting 31 rebounds. Kaylor led the team with 12 rebounds. The team passed the ball well with 14 assists on 35 made baskets. Matthew Ponton led the team with seven assists.
Kaylor finished with 26 points, Tyler Blake and Keaton Watkins each earned 12 points, Avrey Angel put in 9 points, Ponton and Brody Henson both totaled 8 points each and Kolby Kaylor finished with 6 points.
The Fannin County Rebels will host the Copper Basin Cougars Saturday, November 29. Game time is 4:30 p.m. with the girls game starting at 3 p.m.
