Fannin County cruises to 72-18 win over Copper Basin Cougars

The Fannin County Rebels took a solid 72-18 victory over Copper Basin’s Cougars, Saturday, December 20 in the Piedmont Holiday Classic being played at Gilmer County High School in Ellijay.

The Rebels went on a 19-point run to start the game, gong up 13-0 before Carson Parris put two points on the board for the Cougars. After one quarter, Fannin led 27-3.

Fannin continued to dominate and led 41-15 at halftime.

Fannin’s defense took control of the game and it’s offense was too much for Basin in the second half. Fannin outscored Basin 22-3 in the third quarter and 9-0 in the fourth quarter to take home the win.

The Rebels controlled the paint, grabbing 35 rebounds. Kolton Kaylor led the team with five rebounds. They passed the ball well with 15 assists on 29 made baskets. Kaylor led the team with five assists. The Rebels’ ball pressure forced 19 steals in the game. Garrison Ensley led the team with three steals.

Kaylor scored 12 points, Brody Henson added 10 points, Kylan Dover, Tyler Blake, Camden Woolsey and Hunter Kennedy each scored six points, Ensley, Kolby Kaylor, Avrey Angel and Keaton Watkins all put in five points Carson Callihan scored four points and Cannon Holloway added two points for the Rebels.

For Basin, Parris ended the game with 11 points. Drew Crowder finished with five points including Basin’s only free throws in the third quarter. AJ Pero finished with two points.
