Life Care tests negative for COVID-19

Following much COVID-19 testing, Life Care Center of Copper Basin in Ducktown received the last of its tests back Thursday, June 11 and found that all residents and associates had tested negative for the virus.

Polk budget back to officials

Making Polk County’s budget balance was put back in the hands of the county’s elected officials Tuesday night, June 16. At the end of a two-hour meeting of the county’s budget committee, members agreed to ask office holders to cut their budgets by not less than two or more than three percent.

Copperhill water customers running dry

Water pressure was minimal throughout the past two weeks in the City of Copperhill. Around Tuesday morning, June 9, a pallet valve, which controls the pressure regulator, went out at the water department.

School signup office opens

All new Fannin County student registrations will be processed through the system’s new centralized registration office starting this year.  Parents/Guardians will be able to make appointments for Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
