Adopt A Pet

Fannin County Animal Control has some “paw-some” dogs available for adoption. All dogs taken to Animal Control are housed at the fa- facility until being reclaimed or adopted. This past week, 22 dogs were taken in; one was adopted, and three were reclaimed.

The Humane Society of Blue Ridge cat of the week is Cyrano. He is a one-year-old tabby who is such a fun little fellow! He is ready for playtime with people or other cats, but he is also quite mellow and easygoing. Cyrano loves attention and wants to be part of a family.

Gerald McMillen: Helping block Cuba

Not yet out of high school, Blue Ridge local Gerald “Chief Mac” McMillen knew he wanted to join the military, and at 17 years old, his father signed the paperwork for him to join the Navy.  “Me and school did not get along,” McMillen said.

Stop by Fannin County Animal Control to find the newest member to the family.  All dogs taken to Animal Control are housed at the facility until being reclaimed or adopted.  This past week, 17 dogs were taken in; one was adopted, and seven were reclaimed.
Lorraine Panter is shown with a donation to the Fannin County Recreation Department that was given from the Atlanta Hawks and Georgia Recreation and Parks Association. The $1,750 donation went to helping the kids in the Summer Camp program and was used to go to movies, waterparks, bowling and other activities.
