A third arrest has been made in connection with a drug trafficking investigation that spanned several months in Fannin County.
Karen Michelle Woods, 48, of 283 Pond View Trail, Cleveland, Georgia, has been charged with sell of methamphetamine and trafficking in methamphetamine, according to warrants on file at the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office.
She was booked into the Fannin County Adult Detention Center Monday, August 9, and held without bond.
Her arrest came in conjunction with an investigation involving the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) and the Fannin County and Gilmer County sheriff’s offices.
Two people were initially arrested in the probe, Terry Gene Kendall, 62, of 1097 Old Salem Road, Mineral Bluff, and Haley Nicole Green, 23, of 55 Thrasher Drive, Blue Ridge.
A Fannin County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit stopped the black Honda car Green was driving on Davis Road just off Highway 5 August 4. Kendall, a passenger, was known to have outstanding warrants.
ARDEO agents arrived to assist the deputy.
A sheriff’s office report said the following search of the vehicle, along with a subsequent search of Kendall’s home, resulted in the seizure of approximately 792.6 grams of methamphetamine and $4,289 in cash.
Warrants charging Kendall and Green also indicated 60 Xanax pills and an undetermined amount of THC were discovered. The THC was in paste form.
The charges against Woods stem from the alleged sale of methamphetamine in early August. The warrants accuse Woods of selling more than 28 grams of methamphetamine.
