    Though refusing to reveal their true identities or the name of their team, this trio says they will be the team to beat in the Steer Dressing Event at the Kiwanis Club of Blue Ridge/Mountain Valley Motors Rodeo this Saturday night.

    Organizers promise there will be plenty of excitement during the rodeo this weekend in Blue Ridge.

    The 25th annual event, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Blue Ride and Mountain Valley Motors, begins at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, August 20 and 21. Gates open at 6 p.m.

    Besides the usual rodeo events, this year’s action will feature a Steer Dressing Event each night. Teams are already practicing to take home top honors, and challenges have been issued between competitors.

    Advanced tickets are $13. At the door, the price will be $15. Children under 8 will be admitted free with a paying adult.

    Proceeds go toward the Kiwanis Club’s civic projects.
