Michael Earley, McCaysville chief of police, has been appointed chairman of the Traffic Safety Committee for the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police.

School adopts budget and millage rate

The Fannin County Board of Education (FCBOE) unanimously approved the rollback millage rate, the FY 2022 budget, the purchase of a special needs equipped school bus, and a contribution for a full-time AmeriCorps member serving with Georgia 4-H in Fannin County.

Music rules suspended for Blues & BBQ

The Blue Ridge City Council agreed unanimously to “suspend the (alcohol) ordinance in relation to only the music, amplified music, for the weekend” of Blues & BBQ during a regular meeting Tuesday, August 17.
